Greetings, Serena! It was in the pet shop parking lot that I first noticed this woman, and something about her caught my attention. As I approached her, I observed two different vomit spots, indicating that whatever she had been given did not sit well in her stomach.
Upon entering the shop to inquire about her, I learned that Serena had been there earlier in the afternoon. They mentioned that she had been fed by them and even by some of the customers.
But how did Serena end up in this situation? How long had she been living as a street child, and who had abandoned her here?
It was evident that Serena had a fear of people, and as I got closer, I gently reassured her, saying, "It's okay, I won't hurt you." To my surprise, she started to trust and follow me.
If I had the means in my car, I would have provided her with a safe and secure place to spend the night. Our immediate priority was to get her to the clinic for a thorough examination and the necessary treatment.
Serena seemed to be pleading with us, her eyes filled with fear. She wore an old collar, was covered in dirt, and was noticeably underweight. Her physical condition bore the marks of a tough life on the streets. Despite it all, Serena revealed herself to be a sweet and gentle soul, albeit tired and worn.
Serena is now emanating a different energy. She has received flea and deworming treatment, and we noticed her moving strangely while crossing the street.
Serena's journey from the streets to safety is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and it's a story that touches our hearts with both sorrow and hope. We are committed to ensuring that Serena receives the care and love she deserves as she embarks on this new chapter in her life.
Please stay tuned for updates on Serena's progress and her path to recovery.
