Many Japanese people have shared pictures of the moment the sky turned a scary dark purple on Twitter.

Japanese meteorologists have warned that Super Typhoon Hagibis is likely to be stronger and more destructive than Super Typhoon Ida, which raged and killed 1,269 people in this country in 1958. .

Residents in central and eastern Japan since Thursday afternoon (October 10) have begun to move to shelter or evacuate when hearing information that a super typhoon is approaching. In Filipino, "Hagibis" means speed and it has grown extremely quickly and took only 18 hours to reach what is considered a "super typhoon". The typhoon is expected to hit the Nagoya area in central Japan on Saturday morning (October 12).

However, before the super typhoon hit, in the evening of October 11, Japanese people continuously shared images of the sky suddenly turning into a strange color. This makes people extremely confused and afraid of the heavy destructive power of the coming storm.

The fact that the sky turns purple is the result of a phenomenon known as "scattering". This happens when molecules and small particles in the atmosphere change the direction of the resulting light rays. In early September, when Super Typhoon Dorian swept through  Florida, a similar phenomenon was also recorded.

Currently, the Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a warning to the people about heavy rain, wind storms, high waves and storm surge caused by super typhoons. The agency has also urged the implementation of preventive measures earlier than usual. In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority of Japan also ordered the cancellation of nearly 400 flights, the suspension of subway and train services, and the postponement of outdoor activities to ensure everyone's safety.

Information about  Hagibis - the strongest super typhoon in 60 years that is about to hit Japan will be updated as soon as possible.
