Nature is full of wonders. Some things are explainable, some are not, yet they still amaze anyone who is lucky enough to see it once in a lifetime.
1. Solar light column
Where it happens: Anywhere under the right conditions.
Solar poles are an atmospheric optical phenomenon. Vertical bands of light caused by natural or artificial light reflected on many ice crystals floating relatively close to the ground.
2. Asperitas Cloud
Where it happens: Anywhere under the right conditions.
The Asperitas clouds are scary dark clouds. Although they appear like a hurricane, they usually dissipate without creating any storms.
3. Red rainbow
Where it happens: Anywhere under the right conditions
A red rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon. Like a normal rainbow, it is caused by the refraction of light in the water drop, but the sunlight must be very close to the horizon. Since this phenomenon occurs in low light conditions, the rainbow effect becomes extremely impressive.
4. Polar stratospheric clouds
Where it happens: High-latitude areas such as Iceland, Scandinavian countries, Alaska, Northern Canada, and Antarctica.
Also known as mother-of-pearl clouds, these iridescent turquoise clouds form at high latitudes. Unlike other clouds, it forms in the very cold stratosphere and receives sunlight from below the horizon.
Due to a chemical reaction, these beautiful clouds are responsible for increasing ozone depletion.
5. Volcanic lightning
Location: Volcanic eruption.
Volcanic lightning (also known as dirty thunder) is a weather phenomenon. It occurs when ash, rock fragments, and ice fragments from a volcano collide, generating enough static electricity to produce lightning.
6. Mammatus . Cloud
Where it occurs: Anywhere under suitable conditions, but common in the United States.
Mammatus clouds have a structure that looks like they are hanging under a shower. It occurs because cold saturated air, heavier than the surrounding air, sinks to form a pocket.
7. Methane ice bubbles
Location: Lake Abraham, Alberta, Canada
Ice bubbles are methane bubbles emitted by rotting plants that become trapped below the surface of a lake when frozen. In the summer, these bubbles rise to the surface and burst.
8. Auroras
Place of occurrence: On the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres.
The aurora borealis, also known as the aurora borealis, aurora borealis, aurora borealis, and aurora borealis, is a natural display of dancing lights. It is caused by the collision of charged particles when the magnetic field is disturbed by the solar wind.
9. Lenticular clouds
Occurrence: Anywhere under the right conditions
Lenticular clouds are irregularly shaped clouds that have the shape of a disc or lens. They usually form when moist air flows over mountains or obstructing structures in cold enough temperatures. Due to their disc-like shape, lenticular clouds have been confused with UFOs.
10. Catatumbo Lightning
Location: Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela.
Catatumbo lightning is an atmospheric phenomenon. A unique combination of wind, hot and humid climate, and mountains surrounding the area from three sides create an electrical charge that results in near-continuous lightning. This phenomenon occurs during 260 nights a year, 10 hours per day, and about 280 times per hour.
