During his investigations in Mycenae, the legendary city of King Agamemnon (in Ancient Greek Aγαμέμνων), Heinrich Schliemann (German Businessman and Archaeologist) and Wilhelm Dörpfeld took a picture at the Great City’s Gate, known as The Lion Gate (1898)

Heinrich is famously known for the excavations in Mycenae and in Troy. However, his campaigns are currently wrapped around a lot o controversy because of his – in today’s eyes, outdated – method, which destroyed more than collected information.
