The West Lothian Encounter: Scotland's Most Famous UFO Incident
The West Lothian incident, also known as the Livingston Incident or the Robert Taylor Incident, is one of the most famous UFO encounters in Scotland, and indeed, the United Kingdom.
Taking place in 1979 in the town of Livingston, West Lothian, it involved a forester named Robert Taylor and a close encounter that left physical evidence.
On the morning of November 9, 1979, Robert Taylor, a forestry worker for the Livingston Development Corporation, was walking his dog in the Dechmont Woods when he came across a strange, spherical object hovering above the forest floor.
As he approached, two smaller spheres dropped from the larger one and started rolling towards him.
The smaller spheres grabbed him, and Taylor lost consciousness. When he awoke, the mysterious objects were gone, but his clothes were torn, and he had marks on his body.
More intriguingly, there were physical marks on the ground where the incident took place, including ladder-shaped marks and circular indentations.
The West Lothian incident remains one of the most compelling UFO encounters due to the physical evidence left behind and the credibility of the witness.
Despite numerous investigations and theories, the incident is still unexplained, adding to the enduring mystery of UFO phenomena and our understanding of the universe.
